Breast Enlargement (Augmentation)

What It Is:

This surgical procedure increases and improves the size and shape of the breasts using saline or silicone implants.

How It Works:

Incisions are made under the breasts and around the areola of the nipple. Implants are placed though incisions in different positions relative to the pectoralis muscles, nipples are repositioned appropriately.

What are the benefits?

What are the side effects?

• Temporary soreness, swelling and bruising
• Change in nipple sensation
• Temporary sensitivity
• Mammography is partly obscured

• Bleeding
• Infection
• Permanent increase or decrease in nipple/breast sensitivity
• Development of an immune disorder
• Rippling of the breast
